Khwai Tented Camp located on a beautiful site within this community-run concession on the eastern border of the Moremi Game reserve, on the banks of a lagoon flowing into the Khwai river, acts as a boundary between the reserve and the community area, offering visitors staying here several unique ways to experience Africa.
Preserving the romance of yester-year, a simpler life in harmony with nature, Khwai Tented Camp will leave you longing to return to Africa. There are no permanent structures; everything can be removed to leave the wilderness exactly as it was found, minimising the impact on the environment. The main area is under canvas, comprising a comfortable lounge area, cosy bar and dining area which spills out onto the deck which extends down on to our barefoot luxury river sand beach area. From here, take in the breathtaking views of the lagoon over a cup of steaming hot coffee and some lively fireside chatter before or after your exciting safari activity. The nearby hammock or sparkling swimming pool beckons for some deep relaxation. A highlight is dining under the stars in our boma or al fresco out in the bush.Â
Activities at the lodge
We guarantee you the most exclusive experience of the area by heading out of camp an hour earlier on game drives. During the drive, the guides communicate via our dedicated radio channel in the Khwai, minimizing radio interruptions. Our intrepid guides’ unrivalled understanding of the area allows us to explore trails less trodden inside the park. Â
