Busanga Plains Heart
Busanga Bush Camp lies on a verdant island in the middle of Kafue’s Busanga Plains. Day and night drives and seasonal boating take in the diverse wildlife in this remote place on the ground, or a hot air balloon ride by air.
This intimate camp has just four tents set under leafy fig trees. The main area – under canvas – is a favourite space amongst guests, particularly at sunrise when the rising mist gradually reveals masses of lechwe and puku dotted across the floodplain. Dining also takes place under the canopy of a majestic tree from which an unusual lantern chandelier hangs, romantically lighting up dinner.
The camp offers the most exclusive wildlife ballooning in all of Africa, this activity allows you to take to the skies in style. Gaze over scenic splendour, watch hippo playing far below and fly eye-to-eye with an eagle. This life-changing experience ends with a sumptuous champagne breakfast. (Available August to October; conservation fee applies)
